The Party

...Bringing back donuts to Red's!  One night only!

Sometime around the first month together, Richard and I jokingly said we were going to have our party at Red's. Well, as the years went by, It just seemed like there was no other options worth thinking about to celebrate our marriage.  It is, and has been, a steady second home for both of us when we are in San Francisco.  Besides, you can't find a better host than Shawn.

Red's is on Pier 30, with plenty of parking.  It is a San Francisco Historical Landmark and is an old-fashioned coffee house, you know, the kind that kept a huge urn of coffee going all day for the men who worked on the docks and frequented it.  Red's usually serves great breakfasts, burgers and really good fish and chips.  However, for us, Shawn will be cooking up something special.  We will have water, tea and, if I can collect enough lemons, lemonade made with lemons from trees Richard's mom planted with the meal, and the bar will be open for those who want to purchase something else.  Word is, there will actually be vegetables there, besides french fries and catsup.  Plan on a blue plate special, one for meat eaters and one for the vegetarians in the crowd.

I took this from The Lioness when the Bay Bridge was being built
It is hard to tell what the weather will be like, but plan on a chilly night.  There is a small indoor area, a covered bar and a large patio.  If the  night is dry, we hope to be outside much of the time.  Slacks and flats are fine for the ladies, or pull out your fancy coat for that pretty dress.  Be warm.

We plan to start at 6:00 and go until about 10:00.
